Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

PRAYOG is a new initiative of IIT Bombay that brings solution seekers and solution providers together to address development challenges in the country.

Currently, the PRAYOG is a project at the Dean Alumni and Corporate Relations (ACR) Office of IIT Bombay, headed by the Principal Investigator (PI) Prof. Bakul Rao and Co-principal Investigator (Co-PI) Prof. Parameshwar Udmale from CTARA with a core team of 6 members.

PRAYOG collaborates with several government agencies, nonprofit organizations, corporates, and experts from academic institutions and helps to find solutions to development issues.

PRAYOG helps CSR Organisations to develop their CSR policies and design CSR programs. It also helps them by providing project proposals that can be funded in compliance with Schedule 7 of the Companies Act, conducting Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E), and Impact Assessment of their CSR programs/projects.

Step 1: PRAYOG provides a platform where anyone can report a developmental problem.
Step 2: After getting a problem, the PRAYOG team shortlists the problem by analyzing genuinity and severity of the problem, the interest/seriousness of the problem reporting agency, and availability of funds with reporting agency/feasibility of raising funds.
Step 3: Once the PRAYOG team shortlists the problem, it defines a problem in a structural way and approaches an academic expert from IIT Bombay in that field who can help to solve the problem.
Step 4: PRAYOG jointly coordinates with the problem reporting entity, funding agency, and academic expert to start with the project.
Step 5: PRAYOG also provides project monitoring support throughout the project implementation and impact assessment services after the project completion.

No, PRAYOG itself do not provide funds. But PRAYOG can help in building proposals to raise the funds by defining a problem in a structural way.

Any entity in the country right from specific individuals, community representatives, politicians, Civil Society organizations, Non-governmental Organisations, and government officials, to corporates, can report a developmental problem that needs social/technological solutions.
